 当外来では、視神経疾患から脳の中枢に起因する視覚障害にいたるまで幅広い領域をカバーしておりますので、神経内科、脳外科、耳鼻科等、他科との連携を密にして診断と治療を行っております。特に視神経疾患（視神経炎、鼻性視神経症、虚血性視神経症、レーベル視神経症）、心因性視覚障害の割合が多いと思います。
神経眼科外来には、視力や視野異常の訴えがあっても、どこにも悪いところがないといわれて受診される患者様もいらっしゃいます。このような場合には、網膜や視神経の機能を他覚的に評価する事が診断をすすめていく上で大切です。このとき威力を発揮するのが視覚電気生理学的検査で、我々の最も得意とするところであります。

We examine a wide variety of patients with disorders ranging from optic nerve diseases to visual disturbances emanating from brain diseases, collaborating with related medical departments such as Neurology, Neurosurgery and Otorhinolaryngology.
Principal diseases include optic nerve diseases (optic neuritis, compressive optic neuropathies, ischemic optic neuropathy, Leber’s hereditary optic atrophy) and psychogenic visual disturbance.
Many cases with unexplainable visual acuity and field changes are referred to us for evaluation. We utilize electrophysiological methodologies to assess retinal or optic nerve functions.
